SSB: This one is courtesy of ‘row5_seat47′ on the Kitco forum and comes off the Google Ngram Viewer – when you enter phrases into the Google Books Ngram Viewer, it displays a graph showing how those phrases have occurred in a corpus of books over the selected years.
As you can see, “gold” and “silver” had their heyday in language use during the first part of the last century. And, just now, we are seeing a return to their popular linguistic use!
